Spend a full day exploring the labyrinthine streets, treasure-packed souqs, and the colorful medina of Fez. The 2,000-year-old medina is still working as the centre of this ancient Arab city. See donkeys and mules laden with goods trawl alongside buyers through the ancient market. Visit some of its many museums, including the Wood Museum and Museum Batha, with its impressive collection of ceramics.

Dive deep into the heart of the souq to search for slippers, jewelry, ceramics, or famous Moroccan carpets. Visit the Jewish quarter, stopping by the synagogue and seeing the city's vast ramparts. Pause at the palace gates to admire this giant structure before learning about the work that goes into traditional Berber carpets at a special demonstration.

Visit a pottery cooperative to see how local ceramics get their distinctive cobalt blue finish before enjoying a cup of coffee from a medina local cafe. Feast on a traditional lunch in the ancient city, then leave the souqs behind and head to the multicolored tanneries.

Climb to the top of the Merenid Tombs for a spectacular panoramic view over the city, stretching from Borj Sud to the rolling hills in the north. Next, see Medersa Bou Inania, an educational institute that was built between 1350 and 1356. The final stops of the day include the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II, the Medersa Cherratine, and the Al-Qayrawan Mosque.

Children age 5 and under are not permitted on this tour. Tips, gratuity, beverages, and personal items are not included in the listed price. Morocco can be considered a liberal Muslim country as many Moroccan women do not wear headscarves. However, Morocco is very conservative by standards you may be accustomed to at home, so you should dress accordingly. Shoulders, cleavage, and knees should be covered at all times. Wearing shorts (men and women), low-cut tops, and showing midriff is not recommended–it will restrict your entry into religious buildings and family homes, and is considered disrespectful to the local culture. Long, light-colored, lightweight sleeved shirts, trousers, and skirts are respectful. They also keep you cool in the heat and protect you from the harsh sun.
